If you are in what I think of as WP Engine’s core markets – they offer a great service with a solid product. Their pricing is competitive in the Managed WordPress Hosting space – and they offer more features than “WordPress hosting” plans from other hosting brands. Their feature-set is unmatched for savvy DIYers, WordPress website developers and/or high-traffic sites that don’t want to worry about hosting issues.
They need to have predictable plugins; predictable visitor patterns; predictable use cases. Every hosting company has rules (or very real physical limits), but WP Engine goes a bit further to define what you can and can’t have on your WordPress install in addition to tiered overage pricing to discourage seasonal traffic spikes and local storage usage.
Recruitment process here is a complete sham. The only place I know where you submit your application and then you get a canned response five minutes later indicating "thanks but no thanks". Their recruiters, and I use that term very loosely, don't have the fundamental skills to appropriately vet candidates if all they do is push a button to send off lame canned response notices. Where can I apply for that job because it sounds easy to be lazy.

WP Engine is a great company to work for if you go anywhere but support. If you do go in for support get ready for a high stress levels as management will want to enforce metrics while not having a full understanding of the metrics to begin with. When you start out management will judge you almost immediately as they do have their favorites. This will affect advancement which is very slow paced than advertised unless you fall into said favoritism. Like anywhere else it is cut throat and other employees will not hesitate to point out mistakes as failures rather than making it a learning experience. The pay for support is grossly underpaid compared to other companies out there. The culture is great and that is about the only thing great as they do have out of work functions for team outings. No. The least expensive plan provides 50 GB of monthly bandwidth. But more important is the number of user visits they allow. For example, the Startup plan offers 25,000 user visits per month. They have ways of differentiating between real users and bots and spammers, and the 25,000 applies only to real users. So 25,000 user visits should be fine for most sites. But the higher level plans offer more visits.
I’ve signed up and been blown away by the site speed. Been running WP site for over 3 years with well over 20 sites (although culling this soon) and I’ve never had a better host.
