This is important when considering the choice of a web host and how it could affect the SEO of an individual site. Google takes site speed into account with their search algorithm because they have found that every additional 100ms of page-load time mean a 20 percent drop in traffic. The longer your site takes to load, the more visitors will abandon the site and go about their day. You want a host that is capable of serving pages in 1.5 seconds or less. Business owners who migrate to WP Engine say it sees their sites load an average of 2-4 times faster, and notice an immediate increase in their search engine results.

All in all, I can safely say that, while they are expensive for small Personal users, they are 100 % worth it. You truly feel like they are actually doing great stuff with your money. Speed, up-time, stability, security and support are nothing short of amazing, and they really do deserve credit for that. It’s not for nothing that Automattic, the company behind WordPress, had invested money in WPEngine, They live up to their name in all the ways I can think of, and maybe even more.
"With a managed hosting company, you get enterprise-quality servers that are fast and scalable, and it means that you as the business owner get the benefit of having enterprise-level system administrators running the servers. You can expect to pay more for this sort of quality, but the alternative is paying a low monthly fee for a slow website that doesn't impress your customers."
WP Engine is a managed hosting environment specifically designed for WordPress installations, themes, and plug-ins. In fact, you don't need to install WordPress as you do with most other web hosts; the content management system comes preinstalled. It was refreshing to open my introductory email, view my login credentials, and then get started without any additional setup. In terms of creating content, WP Engine functions as any other self-hosted WordPress installation. It's a breeze to create posts, pages, and galleries.
If you approach them with any issue, they blame it on the developer. This is so they can sell you developer services, getting your current developer fired. Imagine your coding a website for someone and someone comes in when you are not looking and puts a disallow on the site. You know the default is to only disallow the admin panel and you never created a robots.txt file, nor do you even have access to the robots.txt file from the sftp. As far as you are concerned it does not exist. You then get a call from your client screaming saying that they spoke with WPE who says it is a common mistake by a rookie developer. As far as I am concerned the only person responsible for the disallow is the person who puts it there. You cant force code and not take responsibility. What other code has been forced that the developer will get blamed for?
What followed, was nothing but amazement. At first, when entering the administration panel, I felt like it was a little bare bones. There weren’t halve as many pretty icons as there were on cPanel, which I was used to, and it was a bit strange to encounter something like this. However, after reading through their extensive documentation on how to do literally everything to start up Your Site, it was a true piece of cake.
