WordPress is the backbone that supports millions of websites, so it's not surprising that many web hosting services focus exclusively on hosting one of the world's most popular content management systems—WP Engine among them. WP Engine is a high quality host that boasts excellent uptime, WordPress-specific security, daily backups, real-time threat detection, cloud platform flexibility, and other excellent features. Overall, the enterprise-class managed WordPress plans, for which WP Engine is an Editors' Choice, can get your site up and running in no time, but you'll need to look elsewhere for domain names and creating email accounts.
WP Engine offers a powerful form of WordPress hosting that comes with an informative customer service team, reliable uptime, and cloud platform flexibility. If you're serious about building a WordPress-powered website, WP Engine is a fine place to start. Just remember that you must turn to a third-party company for a domain name and email accounts, and the base plan slacks 24/7 phone supprt. A2, on the other hand, is the Editors' Choice for smaller businesses that don't require enterprise-class WordPress hosting (and don't want to pay the associated fees).
The hosting itself is fine. But I think they reel in a lot of people that don't know much about wordpress and more or less take advantage of that by charging an exuberant amount per month for hosting. I've been in this game a while and I know what is a decent price and what is is not. I got a good deal with WP Engine so I signed up with them. That's the only reason I signed up. Hopefully they still honor the deal in the coming year but I doubt they will. My websites are running super fast so it'll be a shame if I have to leave.
Unfortunately, WP Engine's toll-free, 24/7 telephone support isn't available to people who've signed up for the Startup plan; you must be at least a Growth subscriber to get someone on the horn aroudn the clock. Otherwise, you're limited to 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. (CST) hours. This could prove vexing if you're a Startup customer who wants to speak to a human being at 3 in the morning. At $35 per month, this seems a bit stingy. WP Engine compensates with 24/7 live chat, so you aren't totally left out in the cold if you're a Startup customer.
What followed, was nothing but amazement. At first, when entering the administration panel, I felt like it was a little bare bones. There weren’t halve as many pretty icons as there were on cPanel, which I was used to, and it was a bit strange to encounter something like this. However, after reading through their extensive documentation on how to do literally everything to start up Your Site, it was a true piece of cake.
For this testing, I used a website monitoring tool to track my WP Engine-hosted test site's uptime. Every 15 minutes, the tool pings my website and sends me an email if it is unable to contact the site for longer than one minute. I look at the data for the most recent 14 days for each site's review. In my newest tests, WP Engine proved incredibly stable. In fact, WP Engine didn't go down once during that two week testing period. As long as it keeps on this course, you can count on it deliver a rock-solid Web hosting experience.
That’s where managed WordPress hosting comes in. WP Engine takes care of (nearly) all speed concerns. They have customized servers with extremely aggressive caching and even more advanced “stack” than a typical web host. They also have trained support who will go into your WordPress install and identify the exact chokepoint to get your site moving.
WP Engine offers 60 days money back guarantee if you are not happy for any reason cancel your hosting within 60 days and get full 100% refund no questions ask. This refund policy applies to all the plans, personal, business or custom. So you can try wp engine for 60 days risk free and if not 100% happy just back up everything and cancel the service.
WP Engine has amazing customer support, and if you contact these guys for anything. They will respond quickly and friendly. One of WP Engine’s philosophies is, “Kicking ass at your job is the only salesforce we need,” and I think WP Engine exemplifies that.” After all is said and done, WP Engine is a solid host, and now my host of choice for any new web development projects I have

I found WP Engine exceedingly expensive, its staff very unresponsive to resolving technical issues and , when you point this out to them, they force you to terminate hosting contract in 1 week, in total breach of their own T&Cs. WP Engine is highly unprofessional, techically unskilled and unlawfall, not to mention their ourageously high cost. Stay away
