For this testing, I used a website monitoring tool to track my WP Engine-hosted test site's uptime. Every 15 minutes, the tool pings my website and sends me an email if it is unable to contact the site for longer than one minute. I look at the data for the most recent 14 days for each site's review. In my newest tests, WP Engine proved incredibly stable. In fact, WP Engine didn't go down once during that two week testing period. As long as it keeps on this course, you can count on it deliver a rock-solid Web hosting experience.
The site I worked on had great SEO until switching to WPE. The site speeds slow to a crawl at certain points of the day. Not surprising since you are sharing the server with many other sites and they are tightly managing your percentage of that server. Any large spike that happens and you cant serve those requests. They just cant get to it fast enough. They were honest about this from the beginning so kudos to them for not hiding this.
WP Engine is by many experts considered the best in WordPress Managed Hosting, they offer automatic security updates, daily backups, one-click restore points, automatic caching, top-tier security, FREE CDN &  SSL Plus FREE Site Migration. WP Engine is not cheap compared to other WordPress hosting, but you get what you pay, and WP Engine has the best support and performance by the top WordPress experts so you can be sure your website will be handled by the best. Many well know websites are running on WP Engine because of the speed, security and hustle free dealing with technical aspect of your website.

Over the years, WordPress has evolved more than I could’ve imagined, and with more plugins and functionality being added every single day, the demands for a good web host did too. And thus, the search began. After doing a few hours of research for cheap but reliable hosting, I came across multiple hosting providers that provided hosting for only WordPress and nothing else.
When I checked out their websites, I found they had an amazing plethora of options and security just for WordPress which I could only dream of at the web hosts I had partnered up with earlier. There was a downside however, the price. I finally came along WPEngine and I decided to sign myself up with them, due to a promotional code which allowed the first 3 months to be hosted for only 4$ a month, instead of the usual 29$.
They have partnered with StackPath (formerly MaxCDN) to give all of their customers access to content network delivery services. Using a CDN can drastically reduce latency and improve site speed since servers spanning the globe all work together to deliver site content to users based on their geographic location. CDN is free with all the WP Engine plans.
Although WP Engine's price tag may scare off newbies, those who know WordPress will attest to the impressiveness of WP Engine's proprietary platform. Always updated with the latest hardware to maximize server performance, WP Engine boasts a market-leading software layer built exclusively for WordPress users. This includes the company's own caching system to ensure your site loads super quickly for visitors, a one-click staging area, and constant security monitoring to ward off online threats.

WP Engine is awesome. I have a number of sites hosted with them. Super fast, easy backup/restore, staging area to play with changes, and fantastic support. Hosting is definitely an area where you tend to get what you pay for. If you have a site that you really care about or that you’re trying to actually make money with, then WP Engine is a no-brainer and absolutely worth it.

My site was under attack from a Distributed Denial of Service attack on my old shared host. I was getting 1.5 million requests per hour that took my site down and 20 other sites who were also hosting on the same server. It took the old host three days to identify the problem, and even then offered no real solution. I switched to WP Engine and within hours the DDOS was dealt with *and* my website was loading about four times faster. I definitely recommend WP Engine!
